Summer detox cucumber and celery salad

This summer detox cucumber and celery salad is packed with natural ingredients that help with the body’s natural detoxification process.

Are you looking for a salad hack to break the cycle of boring, pre-packaged ones? Try making your own, and substitute lettuce – which doesn’t contain much nutrition – for more nutritious vegetables.

Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients in this summer detox cucumber and celery salad.

Celery:
It contains a category of antioxidants called phenolic antioxidants, which also have anti-inflammatory properties. Antioxidants help eliminate free radicals in the body, which are toxins known for causing serious diseases including cancer.

Cucumbers:
They are an excellent source of caffeic acid and vitamin C, two antioxidants with anti-inflammatory properties that help fight oxidative stress and reduce signs of aging. Cucumbers are also packed with water, which means better skin, better hydration, and better removal of toxins form the body.

Directions: 

In a bowl, toss the following vegetables:

2 cucumbers, sliced thin
4 stalks of celery, sliced thin
1 sweet onion, sliced thin

Toss salad with our zesty and raw salad dressing listed below:

Process the following ingredients in a blender:

1 clove of garlic
1/2 inch size of ginger
2 tbsp of lemon juice
1/2 cup of raw olive oil
1 dash of turmeric
1 dash of Himalayan salt

Make sure ingredients are organic
