Pomegranate can kill cancer from the roots, by destroying the cancer stem cells, according to recent research from Spain.
The pomegranate, also known as the seeded apple, is shown as being a powerful fruit and is therefore loaded with health benefits.
It is deliciously sweet, and contains about 600 juicy seeds per fruit.
Pomegranate is very low in calories, high in fiber, and packed with disease fighting antioxidants, making it an ideal choice for our diets.

In simple terms, cancer stem cells are the mothers of the cancer cells that they create.
It is believed that killing these can help stop cancer at the source.
The new study proposes that using colon cancer stem cells (CSCs) may “offer a novel paradigm for colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment.”
The researchers looked at how polyphenols from pomegranates interact with and affect CSC’s. To be more specific, they looked at “the effects against colon CSCs of two mixtures of ellagitannin (ET) metabolites, ellagic acid (EA) and the gut microbiota-derived urolithins (Uro) at concentrations detected in the human colon tissues following the intake of ET-containing products (pomegranate, walnuts).”
The researchers confirmed that these mixtures were able to fight colon CSCs taken from the primary tumor of a patient with colon cancer.
According to the study authors, “These data support a role for polyphenols metabolites in the control of colon cancer chemoresistance and relapse and encourage the research on the effects of polyphenols against CSCs.”
The study showing that pomegranate can kill cancer from the roots was published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology.
