Major food corporation Kraft has recalled 36,000 cases of cheese singles due to choking hazard. It is a voluntary recall. The company says that the plastic wrapping on the individual slices may cause a choking hazard.
According to the company:
The recall applies to 3-pound and 4-pound Kraft Singles American and White American pasteurized prepared cheese product with a Best When Used By Date of December 29, 2015 through January 4, 2016.
According to the FDA, there have been 10 complaints from consumers about the packaging, including 3 reports of choking.
The company writes:
Kraft has taken steps to making their products safer, like removing artificial colors and flavors from their Mac & Cheese. While this does not make their products healthy, it is a good step in the right direction.
