  • Did you know that eating fresh and real foods can actually give you “real” energy?
  • Most energy drinks that claim to give you energy, actually give you a sugar rush and can spike the blood sugar they are also packed with artificial sweeteners that are detrimental to our health.
  • A new MRI technique shows that cancer may be feeding on sugar.
  • So try to skip the energy drinks, and make your very own with natural ingredients.
  • Acai berries:
  • They have been used for thousands of years since Brazil natives discovered that they had secret powers to boost energy. These berries contain a compound called anthocyanin, which has antioxidant properties.
  • Bananas:
  • Fruits such as bananas are filled with natural sugars, minerals, vitamins, and good carbs to help give the body an energy boost.
  • Chia seeds:
  • These potent little seeds provide a real boost of energy and strength.
  • Native Americans tribes such as Aztecs and Mayans used the seeds when they needed to fight in battle or run fast.
  • A study from the Journal of Strength and Conditioning showed that chia seeds had similar effects to Gatorade in athletes.
  • Raspberries:
  • Like bananas, raspberries are packed with natural sugars, minerals, vitamins, and more to give you a nice boost of energy.
  • Blend:
  • 2 bananas
  • 1/2 a cup of raspberries (frozen are fine)
  • 2 tbsps of chia seeds
  • 1 tsp of acai powder
  • 1 cup of filtered water
  • Process ingredients in a blender.
  • Drink when you need an energy boost or feel under the weather.
