- Using basil as a natural repellent is a great way to do that, as most bugs hate it.
- Multi purpose basil bug repellent:
- 1. Take a bunch of basil leaves and add to a 4 ounce cup of water until it is packed.
- Let the basil infuse for 2 to 3 hours.
- Pour the liquid into a spray bottle along with 4 ounces of water.
- Note: Instead of fresh basil you can also use basil essential oil.
- Mix 20 drops of basil essential oil with 2 cups of water.Pour into a spray bottle. Shake well before using. Spray around you.
- For a more potent version: You can add 1 cup of 190 proof grain alcohol to the mix.
- Spray in doorways and all entrances to your home, and in areas where you often see mosquitoes or bugs.
