- A healthy almond milk recipe. It is simple, fast and you control the ingredients.
- Almond milk is a great alternative to dairy milk and a great base component for any smoothie.
- Almonds are powerhouses when it comes to health benefits and are gluten-free and low in carbs.
- Almond milk recipe:
- 3 cups raw organic almonds
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract or 1 tbsp of vanilla powder
- 1 tbsp of orange blossom water
- 1 tbsp of organic raw honey
- 5 cups of filtered water
- Directions:
- Soak the almonds overnight and strain them 2 or 3 times.
- Blend the almonds in the filtered water until the mixture is creamy.
- Add the vanilla, orange blossom water and honey.
- Continue blending until well mixed.
- Strain: It is very important. Use a sieve, or cheesecloth (muslin). Pour the almond milk through the filter into a large bowl. The filter will retain the almond pulp and the liquid will go through.
- Refrigerate immediately.
- The almond milk can keep up to 1 full week.
