Energy boosting banana and strawberry smoothie

An energy boosting smoothie packed with antioxidants to keep you healty.

It is a cross between a juice and a smoothie, so you get many of the healing benefits.
Try to drink it twice a day when you simply feel tired.

Blackberries have a dark color due to the Anthocyanin which are powerful antioxidants.

Blackberries are great for urinary tract health and are anti-aging.

They contain Phytochemical which protect cells and fight disease. They also containEllagic acid known to help prevent colon, breast and cervical cancers.

Bananas are full of Vitamin C, B6 and potassium with over 400 mg potassium in one medium-size banana.

Potassium is important for good nerve and muscle function and to maintain a healthy balance of fluids in the body.

Spinach is a champion with phyto-nutrients that have health promotional and disease prevention properties and is very low in calories (100 g of raw leaves provide just 23 calories).

  • Blackberries and banana smoothie:
  • Blend:
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1/2 cup strawberries or raspberries
  • 1 whole banana (peeled)
  • 1/2 avocado peeled and cored
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1/3 cup fresh mint loosely packed
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1/3 cup raw almonds
  • 4 ice cubes
  • Optional: You can use almond milk instead of water (which I did here).
