Every year we celebrate Earth Day, the anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement started by Senator Gaylord Nelson in the 1970s and the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
We are thrilled to announce that Sophie Azouaou, will be Mcing Earth Day San Francisco 2018 (EDSF) which will take place on Saturday April 21st at the Civic Center Plaza from 11 am to 7 pm.
The festival is expected to draw thousands of people and promises to be one of the largest 49th Earth Day Celebration on the west coast and the celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the Save the Redwoods League.
The theme for this year’s Earth Day is “Stand for the Redwoods/Stand for the Future“. This unique partnership includes a “Redwood Canopy Tent” featuring renowned speakers and panel discussions with participation from the Save the Redwoods League, Bioneers, the California Academy of Science, and SF Sustainable Fashion Week.
Earth Day San Francisco 2018 is designed to bring together leading members of the green/sustainability activist movement to co-create a vision of how to address environmental issues we face.
Many prominent speakers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, indigenous community leaders, civic agencies, musicians, and youth groups will be part of this event.
EDSF speakers include former California State Senator and San Francisco mayoral candidate Mark Leno, San Francisco Supervisor and mayoral candidate Jane Kim, former State Assemblymember Tom Ammianoand others to be announced as the event gets closer.
Activities range from Hands on Green Do-It-Yourself projects, Eco Fashion Shows, Holistic Wellness Village, Artist Zone, Sustainable Chef Zone, over 80 earth friendly vendors, to Eco Kid Zone with Tons of Activities.
Earth Day San Francisco 2018 line up will be epic:
DJ David Harness, Karma Moffett, Gadge Five, Chris Cane, Bayonics, Cyphers4change, Underground Nomads, , DJS Amar and Suresh.
EDSF is dedicated to providing the tools and inspiration to bring together our community.
The goal is to educate the public on Green and Earth-friendly solutions and to empower the sustainability movement to grow worldwide.
