It is safe to say, there is no spice in the world known by scientists that is more powerful for health than turmeric. There are so many reasons why you should eat turmeric every day.
Turmeric has received a lot of attention lately due to the power of social media and the overwhelming number of studies on the potent spice.
MEDLINE, the medical study database for example has over 10,000 studies on turmeric alone.
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disorder that forces skin cells to grow too rapidly. Up to 7.5 million Americans suffer from the disease, according to the National Institutes of Health. It is actually an autoimmune disease and occurs when a type of white blood cell called a T cell mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells.
There are some traditional treatments, but many of them can include side effects.
Can turmeric treat psoriasis? The scientific evidence
A study recently published in the Iranian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research examined the potential turmeric topical treatment for psoriasis.
After 9 weeks of treatment, the study participants showed significant improvement in psoriasis and a reduction in lesions.
Another recent study from the journal Biochimie discovered that the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric are what contribute to its anti-psoriasis properties.
It is true, the anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric are extremely potent. These properties are what give turmeric most of its benefits, including fighting cancer, pain relief, and so much more.
So can turmeric treat psoriasis? Health experts can’t say yes yet, but so far evidence is very promsing.
