Moringa is a plant that is catching the attention of many health experts and it taking alternative medicine by storm. Often referred to as the drumstick or Malunggay, the moringa tree is used often in South Indian stews and curries. Could this green herb be a cure for 5 different cancers?

First, let’s take a look at some of the health benefits of moringa.

Antioxidant rich:
Morgina is packed with antixoidants, which fight the effects of dangerous, disease causing free radicals. These free radicals are linked to many chronic diseases including heart disease, cancer, and more. Antixoidants also have potent anti-aging properties, and should be a staple in everyone’s diet.

Eye health:
Moringa is rich in vitamin A, with four times more than carrots gram to gram. Vitamin A is known to be a key nutrient for eye health. Carrots are usually considered some of the best eye foods on the planet, but they may have to step aside for moringa.

It is absolutely packed with iron, containing even three times more than spinach! Iron is extremely important for maintaining energy throughout the day, as it aids the body in providing oxygen throughout the muscles.

A study published in June in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition showed that moringa extract helped the body kill cancer cells.

Another a study from the Journal of Medicinal Food showed that moringa extract killed cancer cells in the esophagus.

One more study published in Oncology Letters reported the following: “These results support the potential of soluble extracts of M. oleifera leaf as orally administered therapeutics for the treatment of human liver and lung cancers.”
