Earth Day San Francisco (EDSF) took place on Sunday, April 22 at the Civic Center Plaza and drew thousands eager to have eco-conscious fun. The event celebrated the anniversary of the birth of the environmental movement started by Senator Gaylord Nelson in the 1970s and the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Founder and Producer of the festival is Douglas Kolberg, Principal of Green Zone Productions (GZP). “ We are thrilled to see so many people embracing our Environment and Earth Day,” states Kolberg.

When we asked Mayor Edwin Lee what Earth Day San Francisco means, this is what he proudly said: “Every day is Earth Day in San Francisco. Our residents and businesses use the greenest and most sustainable practices, but we can always do better. One way is to volunteer in our parks, in our streets, and in our communities and demonstrate green living in your lifestyle to create a healthy and sustainable environment in our City.”

As the event drew to an end, the clear message resounded in our mind:

There is hope, San Franciscans are aware. There is now a heartfelt knowledge that WE are taking care of San Francisco. We lead by example, but we must remain this way and do more each and every day.

We want to thank our main stage sponsors Earth Friendly Products, NUMI Tea and Vaska.
